The Prager Approach
A lot has been written and is known about the negative effects of over exposure to the sun on skin. But science has also proven that environmental pollutants are as much, if not more of a threat to the health of your skin as UVA and UVB rays, particularly for those living in dense urban areas. According to Skin Foundation 90% of premature ageing is caused by environmental damage.
The unfortunate by-product of exhaust fumes, smoke, dust, dirt and debris, pollution starves skin of oxygen. Pollution particles - sometimes 20 times smaller than pores - infiltrate the deeper layers of the epidermis, resulting in premature ageing, loss of elasticity and increased inflammation. Concurrent with an overload in free radical damage they can also lead and contribute to allergic skin conditions such as dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis or acne.
“We know that wearing sunscreen is no longer enough”, says Dr Michael Prager, “Combatting toxic avengers should be a major factor in your skincare routine. But when I looked at what anti-pollution skincare was available on the market for clients there was hardly a product out there that I would want to use on my own skin, so I decided to create Prager Skincare.”
The Advent of Urban Protect
Born out of a desire to create something he would be happy to recommend to his clients, Dr Michael’s Prager Skincare debut range Urban Protect fuses advanced scientific methods with A-grade natural ingredients to protect and combat against environmental factors.
Our anti-pollution skincare combines some of the most advanced natural ingredients available on the market - the most potent anti-oxidants, the purest vitamin C, the most luxurious amount of gold particles and oils designed to create an occlusive layer to avoid penetration of the skin.
At the same time what’s good for your skin is also good for the planet, the entire Urban Protect range is free from anything chemically harmful, harsh or artificial – no plastics, no parabens, no chemicals, no hormones.
